Rangnick has 75.6 million pounds available to bolster his Manchester United squad

Ralf Rangnick will be looking to add his own style to the current Manchester United squad, as he looks to bring in players in the January transfer window that will get them as high up the table as possible.

His reported 75.6 million pound transfer kitty is only available to him on the condition that he sells excess players who he no longer needs.

The Red Devils will need to hit the ground running in the New Year if they are to secure Champions League football, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea pulling away as a top three.

Since the announcement of Rangnick as United‘s interim manager on November 29, 2021, they are unbeaten in their four games, with more recent fixtures postponed due to COVID-19 outbreaks.

Mind the exit

There will be some players currently at Old Trafford that will be wary of not being deemed as good enough for Rangnick‘s new-look Manchester United squad.

Of those current players, it seems that the German manager has already decided on who will be leaving, despite only being in his position for less than a month.

But just who looks the most likely to be departing from Manchester this coming January window?

Lingard and Martial to go

Jesse Lingard was given another shot at the club following his inspiring form that he found whilst out on loan at West Ham United in the 2020/21 season.

However, Lingard, whose contract expires next summer, has been unable to recapture that side to his game on his return and could be set for a permanent move to West Ham, who wanted to re-sign him on a permanent over summer but failed to agree a fee.

Another forward who has been rumoured to leave Manchester United is Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has been linked with Newcastle United and Barcelona, but he looks to have his eyes set on joining LaLiga Santander side Sevilla.

Tough decisions for Rangnick

Lingard and Martial are the two most obvious sales that Rangnick can decide to take, however there remains plenty of question marks over who should leave in January.

It seems that David de Gea is his preferred No.1, meaning that Dean Henderson may wish to get his move for regular football, something which could generate some 19.8 million pounds for the young English shot-stopper.

Another is Paul Pogba who will need a decision this January. As the Frenchman is in the final year of his contract, meaning that he could agree to join a new club in the coming summer.

Manchester United will be hoping that he will leave in January on a permanent deal in order to give them much-needed funds to reinvest in the squad.
