  2. What the papers say

Liverpool dominate the back pages today, with defender Joe Gomez’s injury the biggest talking point.

The centre-back is out for six weeks after suffering a leg break during the Reds’ game against Burnley.

While Burnley manager Sean Dyche has accused Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge of diving.

  3. Morning!

Well, it is wet and miserable here at BBC Sport HQ but I’m hoping the upcoming Premier League managers speaking at their respective news conferences can brighten the day up a bit.

Of course, that’s a smidge of a long-shot considering Jose Mourinho isn’t known for being a happy chappy in front of the press, but luckily I’m an eternal optimist.

And his side’s improved performance against Arsenal in midweek should certainly give him reason to smile.
