Glasgow have a penalty advantage as they lay siege to the Edinburgh line…
Glasgow have a penalty just inside their own half after a ruck infringement. Just before that Blair Kinghorn tackled Adam Hastings and the young full-back didn’t seem to use his arms. The referee has given him a warning.
Dave Rennie bemoaned Glasgow’s lack of killer instinct last week and Stuart Hogg has just thrown a huge looping pass which is easily cut out by the Edinburgh defence. It was a good opportunity wasted after building some pressure from the line-out.
Glasgow get on the attack after Tommy Seymour breaks through and releases Stuart Hogg, but Edinburgh’s scramble defence is good. Glasgow though now have a penalty after a high tackle by Jaco van der Walt on Adam Hastings. They’ve opted to kick for the corner.
Glasgow win a turnover from the kick-off but Alex Dunbar is pinged for holding on at the ruck, and Edinburgh clear the penalty downfield.
Edinburgh get the penalty at the scrum in a kickable position, and Jaco Van der Walt lines it up. Ahe South African fly-half nails it from the 10m line. Edinburgh edge in front.
There’s already a bit of spice here as Scotland second-rows Grant Gilchrist for Edinburgh, and Glasgow’s Tim Swinson grapple each other on the floor. We now have a scrum…
And Stuart Hogg gets us underway at Scotstoun…
